Kharegaon Creek Bridge Opens on Mumbai-Nashik Highway

The 825-metre, four-lane Kharegaon Creek Bridge has opened in Thane, easing a major bottleneck on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway.

Fire at Parsik Nagar Cafe Prompts Evacuation of 35 People

A fire at a ground-floor cafe in Thane’s Chandrabhaga Park complex damaged the premises and led to the evacuation of 35 people, with no casualties reported.

A fire broke out at Parsik Cafe, a 1,000 sq ft ground-floor establishment in the six-storey Chandrabhaga Park complex at Parsik Nagar, Kalwa West, Thane, at 4.58 am on August 14, 2025. The fire department and disaster management personnel evacuated residents of Chandrabhaga Park B Wing; 35 people were evacuated from the building. No casualties were reported. The blaze damaged tables, chairs, grates, fridges, cupboards and other kitchen materials. Fire tenders extinguished it by 6.25 am. Authorities were investigating the cause.
