PMRDA Sets Traffic Relief Plan for Hinjewadi, Wagholi and Shikrapur

PMRDA has ordered road repairs, land acquisition and new road works to ease congestion in Hinjewadi, Wagholi, Shikrapur and nearby areas.

Following Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s instructions, PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase reviewed traffic measures at the authority’s Akurdi headquarters on November 27, 2025, with officials from revenue, transport, MIDC, highway and metro departments, police and land acquisition teams; citizens also offered suggestions.
Officials must make the region pothole-free by December 5 and urgently submit land acquisition proposals for the Hinjewadi Phase 1–3 elevated corridor. Metro authorities must repair potholes under Metro Line 3 and hand the road to MIDC. PMRDA will fund permanent traffic signals and CCTV in Hinjewadi; enforcement was ordered against rule-breaking dumper drivers and dust-generating RMC plants.
Pune–Mumbai Ring Road underpasses and service roads are under construction. NHAI said Bhugaon land acquisition delays are being resolved, with work orders due the following week. A 30-metre-wide parallel ring road for Wagholi–Shikrapur traffic has been demarcated, and municipal road work is underway. Officials must urgently report on the Wagholi–Kesnand bypass after inspection and speed land processes for Shikrapur’s regional-plan alternatives. Talegaon Dhamdhere–Isapat and Mazak India–L&T Phata–Shikrapur roads and new bridges are planned.
