Roads have been dug up for Narmada water and Avantika gas pipelines, causing severe congestion around Chanakyapuri Square for more than 15 days. On Thursday morning, commuters were delayed by nearly one to one-and-a-half hours; school buses, e-rickshaws and two-wheelers were also stuck. Traffic officials cleared the jam after about 30 minutes. Police questioned the contractor and Annapurna police took the contractor to verify documents. Authorities are checking whether Avantika Gas Agency had permission to dig up the square; an FIR may be registered if it did not. Hundreds of vehicles were held up between Rajendra Nagar Bridge and the Talab area, and between Kesarbagh Bridge and Gopur Square. Large pits near the Croma showroom, Hanuman Temple and Ganesh Temple worsened traffic. The alternate route via Kesarbagh Railway signal was closed at peak hour, and no proper diversion was in place despite earlier traffic-police warnings.

Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav directed officials to plan a sewage treatment plant in Lokmanya Nagar, alongside garden and other neighbourhood improvements.

During a Sunday inspection of cleanliness and development works in Ward 72, Zone 15, Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav directed zonal officer Nadeem Khan to prepare a plan for an STP plant in Lokmanya Nagar through DRA, after residents raised sewerage drainage problems. Treated water could be used in local gardens and for other purposes. Garden beautification and a yoga shed are also planned in Lokmanya Nagar, while development works are to be planned in Revenue Nagar. The mayor inspected cleanliness and garden and sewerage-line works in Lokmanya Nagar, Kesar Bagh Road, Siddharth Nagar, Alankar Palace Colony, Revenue Nagar and other colonies. He observed stormwater-line work in Alankar Palace Colony and visited the Sanjeevani Clinic near Dussehra Maidan. Additional commissioner Manoj Chaurasia, councillor Yogesh Gander and other officials attended.
