The Ghaziabad development authority (GDA) freed up and sealed 78 unsold duplex flats in Gangotri Tower, Kaushambi Township, near Ghaziabad-Delhi border. Gangotri Tower contains about 440 flats total. The flats were illegally occupied by unidentified people who typically came at night. Items were recovered from about 40 flats and seized. The tower was developed in 1989. GDA officials said the flats will undergo maintenance and refurbishment, with estimated cost per flat of ₹20–25 lakh, then be sold in auction. Local residents complained about civic issues including garbage disposal, sewerage, safety concerns, and nearby liquor shops. RWA former president VK Mittal stated vagabonds and people involved in drugs and alcoholism regularly broke locks to occupy flats, and the authority had failed to address these issues over many years.

Ghaziabad circle rates are government-set minimum property values used to calculate stamp duty and registration charges and discourage undervaluing transactions. Rates vary by locality, property type, road width and use category; high-demand areas including Kaushambi, Indirapuram, Vaishali and parts of NH-24 generally have higher rates than peripheral or developing areas. Buyers and sellers should verify current rates with the Ghaziabad district administration or IGRS UP, as rates may change with new notifications. Registration charges are calculated using the higher of the market or circle-rate value. Uttar Pradesh registration fees are commonly 1% of property value; stamp duty depends on buyer category and transaction type. For a ₹50 lakh flat at 7% stamp duty, duty is ₹3.5 lakh and the ₹50,000 registration fee brings the total to ₹4 lakh, excluding other applicable charges.

• Delhi plans to redevelop the 1.2km road from the EDM Mall foot overbridge to the Anand Vihar U-turn; bids were invited last week.
• A consultant will survey the area, map congestion points, footpaths and traffic islands, and identify permanent structures. Layout plans will cover the 1.2km road and 60-foot width, proposing traffic-flow improvements, pedestrian infrastructure, landscaping, street lighting, decorative illumination and upgraded street furniture. The study is expected to take one month; a second phase will seek approval for interventions.
• The project proposes 15.18 lane-kilometres of six-lane, 60-metre-wide road.
• A multimodal integration plan is also being finalised. Proposals include an underpass connecting the transport hub with Karkardooma, a pedestrian bridge with a travellator, improved pedestrian movement around the railway station, ISBT and RRTS station, and a new foot overbridge for commuters travelling between the railway station and Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh.

Vaishali Metro Station is an elevated terminal on the Delhi Metro Blue Line branch between Yamuna Bank and Vaishali. It connects with Kaushambi, Anand Vihar, Karkarduma, Preet Vihar, Nirman Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Yamuna Bank, Mandi House, Rajiv Chowk, Karol Bagh, Rajouri Garden, Janakpuri West and Dwarka Sector 21. Passengers for Noida Electronic City change at Yamuna Bank; Rajiv Chowk serves as the Yellow Line interchange, while Anand Vihar offers Pink Line and railway/bus connectivity. A New Delhi–Vaishali journey via Rajiv Chowk takes around 42 minutes, though timings vary. The station has two gates: Gate 1 for Vaishali and Gate 2 for Vaishali Sector 4 and Shri Krishanvatika. One station information source lists the first train at 6:00 AM and last at 11:00 PM. Facilities include ticketing, metro-card services, security checks, CCTV, lifts, washrooms, signage and parking; the station is listed as Divyang-friendly. It serves Vaishali, Vasundhara, Indirapuram, Kaushambi, Maharajpur and nearby Trans-Hindon areas.

A fire broke out around 7.21am on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in the projector room of a third-floor cinema at Pacific Mall, near Kaushambi in Ghaziabad. About 10 fire tenders responded, and the blaze was doused within an hour. Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal said a suspected short circuit may have caused the fire; parts of the auditorium were damaged. No visitors were present, and no deaths or injuries were reported. Mall firefighting systems were functional, and the fire did not spread to nearby outlets. Exhaust systems were used to clear smoke. The mall is near the Anand Vihar–Kaushambi border between Delhi and Ghaziabad.
