PWD minister Parvesh Verma announced a Laxmi Nagar skywalk while reviewing waterlogging mitigation and drainage works at Patparganj and Jhilmil.

PWD minister Parvesh Verma announced that Laxmi Nagar will soon get a skywalk to improve pedestrian movement and traffic flow. He made the announcement while inspecting waterlogging mitigation works at the Patparganj highway stretch and Jhilmil underpass, which have recurrent monsoon waterlogging. Officials said the review covered drainage infrastructure, desilting and engineering measures; expansion of precast stormwater drains across east Delhi was also discussed. Verma said 80–90% of Delhi’s waterlogging issues had been addressed, with repairs underway at the remaining critical locations. He said the Public Works Department, Delhi Jal Board, Irrigation and Flood Control Department and other agencies were coordinating pending development works. The inspection was conducted under the Delhi government’s “Government on Wheels” initiative. Laxmi Nagar MLA Abhay Verma, Patparganj MLA Ravinder Singh Negi, Trilokpuri MLA Ravikant, Shahdara MLA Sanjay Goyal and senior officials attended.
