Residents of Eden Woods housing complex in Thane met MahaMetro officials to oppose the proposed Ring Metro station placement at their complex entrance, citing traffic and safety concerns.

Residents of Eden Woods Housing Complex met senior MahaMetro officials on August 19 to express concerns about the proposed Thane Ring Metro route and station placement. The delegation met MahaMetro Director Shravan Hardikar, Executive Director, and Administrative Officer Suresh Lakhare, with MP Naresh Mhaske present.
Residents opposed constructing a station outside their main complex gate on Gladys Alvares Road, stating it would create traffic bottlenecks, double parking, and safety hazards. They expressed concern that the station would obstruct emergency vehicle access (ambulances, fire engines) to the residential complex, while vibrations and noise pollution pose safety risks to buildings.
MP Naresh Mhaske stated his responsibility to raise citizens' grievances with relevant authorities. He noted Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's instructions that metro construction must proceed through proper coordination to ensure public convenience while avoiding disruption to residents' lives.
MahaMetro officials promised to thoroughly evaluate all feedback and technical concerns raised by residents before making a final decision. The delegation included Rajani Pitale, Vivek Sonar, Sridevi Pillai, Rajesh Ananthakrishnan, Vilas Taskhedkar, Sudhanshu Chausalkar, Dinesh Kandpal, Shriram Nagarkar, and Ravi Iyer, with Santosh Vishwanathan from Hiranandani Meadows.
