Corridor Details:

Godhavi to Canal Road Metro Station (hybrid Metro-RRTS): 7.5 km elevated viaduct, six stations
Thaltej Gam to Canal Road Metro Station: 3.3 km, three elevated stations
Combined: 10.8 km infrastructure, nine new stations
Total project cost: Rs 2,825 crore

Tenders cover detailed architectural and structural design for viaducts, stations and associated infrastructure.

The hybrid Metro-RRTS model combines urban metro operations with higher-speed regional transit on a shared corridor.

Godhavi corridor is strategically significant for state government's long-term plans for a large sports village and related infrastructure ahead of proposed 2030 Commonwealth Games.

Detailed Project Report (DPR) remains pending approval from Centre.

Western Ahmedabad Peripheral Area will see 40 lakh sq ft of residential development, mostly luxury 3-5 BHK units, driven by 2030 Commonwealth Games and 2036 Olympics infrastructure plans.

Western Ahmedabad Peripheral Area (WAPA), covering parts of SoBo, Godhavi and Shela, is emerging as a real estate hotspot ahead of Commonwealth Games 2030 and Olympics 2036. Godhavi's WAPA has already seen 25 lakh sq ft of residential development; over next three years expected to add 40 lakh sq ft more. Supply mostly comprises 3 BHK units with premium 4 and 5 BHK apartments for luxury segment. High-rise proposals up to 70 metres (roughly 22 storeys) gaining momentum. CREDAI's 19th property show (Jan 9-11, 2025) will feature 60 developers with 300+ projects, majority residential. WAPA region highlighted for luxury housing. Current residential prices Rs 4,000-4,500 per sq ft, nearly half the Ambli–Bopal corridor. Luxury housing construction expected to nearly double in next three years. South West Ahmedabad Sports Arena (SWASA) proposed in Manipur–Godhavi area under TP 457, adjacent to TP 429. TP 429 is Knowledge and Institutional Zone 1 (KZ1) with limited residential; KZ3 earmarked for sports infrastructure.
