New Chandigarh is attracting homebuyers, investors and developers from across North India, drawn by its low population density, cleaner air and planned urban grid. Jatinder Bajwa, vice-president of GB Realty, said the township could lead the region’s next phase of economic growth. GB Realty is launching Opus One, described as New Chandigarh’s first ultra-luxury residential towers, with RERA approvals secured at record speed.
A six-lane expressway linking New Chandigarh to Chandigarh International Airport is under construction. The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) is developing the township as a medium-density area with integrated residential, education, healthcare and commercial facilities. Eco City, Education City and Medi City zones are taking shape.
