Railway Minister announces renaming of Jaipur's Khatipura and Gandhinagar stations and a new large-scale maintenance hub to service 12-18 trains.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced renaming of Jaipur's Gandhinagar and Khatipura stations to Jaipur Gandhinagar and Jaipur Khatipura to avoid confusion with places of the same name elsewhere, particularly Gujarat's Gandhinagar.
A large-scale maintenance hub will be developed at Khatipura capable of servicing 12 to 18 trains at a time, including Vande Bharat services, to launch new trains from Jaipur and expand the city's role as a regional railway hub.
New train services planned include Vande Bharat Express between Jodhpur and Delhi, and another connecting Bikaner to Delhi. An overnight service from Delhi to Jaisalmer is also being considered to boost desert region tourism.
Vaishnaw announced an electronics manufacturing programme training 5,000 young people in collaboration with Laghu Udyog Bharti, and a new integration centre to connect startups with the railway sector with mentorship and investor support.
Cargo and multipurpose terminals are planned to support industries. Railway track fencing is being strengthened and major cities will become gate-free to reduce congestion and improve safety. A state-wide plan will be rolled out within two to three months.
