Indore’s new collector guideline rates for 2026–27 took effect Wednesday, increasing property valuations in 2,624 of 4,590 surveyed locations, an average district-wide rise of 26%. About 57% of locations were affected, and 422 locations were added to the guidance list. The Greenfield Corridor and Outer Ring Road areas saw major adjustments; affected villages include Malakhedi, Sinnot, Kadwali Buzurg, Ralamandal, Gulawat and Chithoda.

Residents rushed to register properties before the rates changed. Sub-registrar offices faced heavy volumes, technical glitches and slot limits despite banks staying open. Registration department revenue rose from ₹2,528 crore in 2024–25, with 1,93,545 registrations, to ₹2,716 crore in 2025–26, up 7.41%; registered documents fell 2.09% to 1,89,545. The revenue increase of ₹188 crore was below the nearly ₹400 crore typically seen in prior years. Experts cited the lack of new master plan announcements and a construction-permission ban in 79 peripheral villages. Higher stamp duty costs may temporarily slow secondary-market transactions.
