Bihta is a developing city of Patna with a distance of 20km from Patna Junction and now its called as Greater Patna. In Bihta there is IIt Collage,ESIC hospital,International airport and many more small factories. It connects patna to maner, arrah.

bihta has been declared as an upcoming town as extension to patna city and falls under the National Capital Region of the state capital town. there are numerous establishments already including premier educational as well as governmental institutions. upcoming projects include international airport, nileet, government medical college and hospital apart from IIT, Patna, NSIT and HPCL Plant. estimated residential requirement in the area has been pitched at more than 3000 houses.

Bihta is developing like an extension of Patna city. Considering the fact that Patna is now thickly populated and there is hardly any scope left for expansion within geographical limits of the city, thus the only option left is to expend beyond city limits. This makes Bihta as one of the best option as Danapur has almost merged with Patna. Lend is available at reasonable rates the place is well connected with the capital of Bihar and most of the facilities are already available within town.

As we can see growth rate in Patna we can see that affecting the population growth of Patna and that the reason why Patna expanding and now Bihta is the place which is in the race to grow after Patna city.. Government and as well as private organisations are now showing interest in bihta.. We have lots of upcoming Government and private sector projects in Bihta. Many corporate offices , institutions, Hospitality dept and etc are now showing their interest to invest in Bihta. Now when there very few big plots left in old Patna, people now keen to move to a best place near Patna where they can live a good,hygienic and Luxury life.. Patna Road and Rail Overbridge Projects Advance, Easing Traffic Congestion

Patna’s 9-km Kanhauli-Sherpur six-lane road is set to start in October, while the Mithapur-Parsa road overbridge is targeted to open in December.

Construction of the 9-km, six-lane Kanhauli-Sherpur road is due to begin in October after acquisition of 177 acres. The project is estimated to cost Rs 778 crore and is targeted for completion by 2028. It will connect directly to the Bihta-Danapur elevated road, improve connectivity to western Patna and Bihta Airport, and provide an alternative route for heavy vehicles travelling between North Bihar, South Bihar and Jharkhand. Bypassing Patna is expected to ease traffic in Danapur, Khagaul, Nehru Path and Saguna Mor, and reduce travel time and fuel consumption. The Mithapur-Parsa Road Overbridge is expected to open by December, easing congestion on the Patna-Gaya corridor.

The 25.081-km Danapur-Bihta-Koilwar elevated corridor, intended to improve connectivity between Patna and western Bihar, is now expected to be completed by August 31, 2027, instead of its original September 2026 deadline. Construction began on March 11, 2024. In January 2026, NHAI said it was aiming for June 2027 completion; about 45% of work was then complete. By the August 2026 project-monitoring update, physical progress stood at 63.5% and financial progress at 60.8%.

The approximately ₹1,969-crore contract was awarded to a joint venture of Seagull India Ltd and YFC Projects Pvt Ltd. The project includes an elevated corridor and ramps from Danapur to Bihta, plus four-laning the Bihta-Koilwar section.

Land acquisition and structures on private land have hindered work near Mahadev Phulाड़ी and Patसा mouzas in Bihta. Railway land and old structures near Danapur railway station have also posed obstacles. The corridor is expected to ease traffic on the Patna-western Bihar route and improve connectivity to Bihta Airport. NHAI project director Arvind Kumar said in January 2026 that the remaining work was targeted for June 2027.
