49 MSMEs have proposed investments of Rs 2,320.97 crore in Chakan-Bhosari industrial belt in Pune district through memoranda of understanding. Proposed investments expected to boost production capacity, generate thousands of jobs and strengthen industrial ecosystem. Industries expected to begin production within one to two years. Industries Department and MIDC will provide land, infrastructure and necessary facilities. Government working to modernise industrial estates developed three to four decades ago and transform them into "industrial cities" with independent administrative mechanisms and self-funded administration through local taxes. Government plans to introduce "industrial city" concept in Pune district. Concept aims to provide industries with stronger, efficient, clean and industry-friendly environment to encourage fresh investments and expansion of existing units. Industries Minister stated Chakan region poised to attract significant investments; infrastructure issues being addressed on priority. Demand for land in Chakan area could exceed availability within a year given scale of investment expected.

PMRDA has planned to build 10 missing links to ease traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad with ₹857 crore budget. Land acquisition proposals have been submitted to the district collector for approval.

Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge has proposed two additional missing links: Mukai Chowk Kiwale (PCMC) – Sangavade – Chandkhed (10 km) connecting Outer and Inner Ring Roads to western Pimpri-Chinchwad and Spine Road. PCMC approved the Mamurdi-Sangavade bridge over Pavana River as part of this link. Chikhali (PCMC) – Moi – Nighoje – Kharabwadi (9 km) providing connectivity between Outer and Inner Ring Roads and Talegaon-Chakan highway. Indrayani River bridge connecting Chikhali and Moi should be widened to six lanes.

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) unveiled a revised plan for the Bhakti-Shakti to Chakan Metro corridor, expanding the route to 45.295 kilometres with 34 stations at an estimated cost of Rs 12,937.23 crore.

The line will begin at Bhakti-Shakti Chowk in Nigdi and end at Chakan, passing through Ravet, Punawale, Tathawade, Wakad, Pimple Saudagar, Pimple Gurav, Nashik Phata, Bhosari, Moshi, and Kurali.

At Wakad, commuters will be able to interchange with the Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro corridor.

Revised proposal includes three new stations at Landewadi, Bhosari Gaon and Bhosari Sector No. 1. Of the total 34 stations, 28 will be within Pimpri-Chinchwad, while six will fall under Chakan Municipal Council limits.

Project is the second phase of metro expansion in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Metro services currently operate between Dapodi and Pimpri. Work is underway to extend the line by 4.519 kilometres up to Bhakti-Shakti Group Sculpture Chowk in Nigdi.

The revised plan will be placed before Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's General Body Meeting, then sent to state government for clearance.
