Key facts
Boiler exploded at Siegwerk Company on Alwar-Bhiwadi Mega Highway-48 in Bhiwadi at 3:30 PM on Monday. One worker, Sheikh Jamshed from Pathariya village, Jharkhand, died; another worker injured. Blast damaged 10-12 houses, breaking windows and causing cracks; one house wall collapsed. Boiler debris found up to 500 meters away. Company management closed factory gates and did not inform police or administration; SP Jyestha Maitreyi sent officers after receiving information.
Company became a threat to villagers. In April 2024, massive fire at factory lasted two days with chemical drums exploding; all 310 employees were evacuated, but nearby houses suffered significant damage. No safety measures implemented after fire. Villagers demanded factory removal.
Factory history: land purchased 1991, company inaugurated 1994 by then Chief Minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. Originally named Sikpa (owner Vimal Jalan from Switzerland), renamed PBU Inc after 10 years, then Siwork (Japanese firm). Currently owned by Mr. Keller. Company operates near two villages: BBpur (population ~2,000) and Banvirpur (population ~1,000), with only one road between BBpur and factory.
