Over the past nine years, Gorakhpur has developed four-lane roads on all major outer routes, alongside widened roads, flyovers and rail overbridges. Projects completed in the past year include the Gorakhnath overbridge, Bargadwa-Nakaha rail overbridge, Khazanchi Chowk flyover and several four-lane road corridors. The 91-km Gorakhpur Link Expressway, built for ₹7,283 crore, improves connectivity with Azamgarh and access to Lucknow. Nearly two dozen infrastructure projects, including ring roads, flyovers, road widening and bridges, are ongoing. The improved road network has eased travel and boosted industrial and commercial activity.
