A survey across Srinagar Colony, Yousufguda, Shaikpet, Tolichowki, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Hydershakote, Sun City and Bandlaguda Jagir found footpaths used for shops, stalls, workshops and parking; where footpaths were absent, people walked on roads. Three months after the Supreme Court declared walking on safe, demarcated footpaths a fundamental right, pedestrians faced traffic risks, especially near Hidayah Islamic International School in Tolichowki and on the Hydershakote–Sun City corridor.

Footpaths in Srinagar Colony, Kamalapuri Colony and Karmikanagar are occupied by businesses or parked two-wheelers. Vendors and businesses also use pavements along Tolichowki’s 7 Tombs Road, the Mehdipatnam–Gudimalkapur Road and in Attapur. One Attapur footpath outside a house held five vehicles; a tiffin centre had operated on a pavement near Deccan Elite Hotel for seven or eight years without being asked to move.

Hydershakote main road, a growing residential corridor with gated communities, schools and supermarkets, largely lacks continuous footpaths. RTC buses, other heavy traffic and a Friday vegetable market add risks for pedestrians and schoolchildren.

Internal roads across Hyderabad have deteriorated over the past year, with stormwater pipelines under the Strategic Nala Development Programme and drainage works leaving stretches bumpy, dug up and unmotorable. Roads in Tarnaka, between Lalapet and Nacharam main roads, await re-carpeting after pipeline work and carry regular two- and four-wheeler traffic. RTC Colony’s main road and nearby colony roads in Chintalkunta have also remained dug up for several months. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation council’s dissolution has left local areas without elected representatives. Residents report similar problems in Hitech City, Gachibowli, Attapur, Rajendranagar, Nizampet, Bachupally, Madhapur-Kakatiya Hills, Ayyappa Society and Gayatrinagar.

• Traffic will be diverted in Mehdipatnam from December 19 to 21 because of ongoing civil works for a skywalk at Rythu Bazar.
• The two-lane road stretch between Rethibowli Junction and SD Eye Hospital will remain closed during construction.
• Public advisory: avoid the road stretch from Pillar No. 40 to Pillar No. 1 of the PVNR Expressway due to expected congestion on nearby roads and junctions.

• Attapur to Banjara Hills: Rethibowli – Nanal Nagar Junction – Fim Nagar – Banjara Hills.
• Attapur to Nampally: Gudimalkapur – Yadav Bhavan – Meraj Café Junction right turn – Asif Nagar – Mallepally – Nampally.
• Tolichowki to Nampally or Lakadikapool: Nanal Nagar Junction – Balika Bhavan – Laxmi Nagar via Pillar No. 68 – U turn at Pillar No. 57 – Gudimalkapur – Yadav Bhavan – Meraj Café Junction right turn – Asif Nagar – Mallepally – Nampally – Lakadikapool.

GHMC commissioner RV Karnan visited Laxminagar Colony in Attapur on 10 June 2025. Residents reported mosquito problems, stray dogs, poor street lighting, and illegal waste dumping near the Musi river. Traffic congestion on Attapur-Bapu Ghat Main Road was highlighted, with requests for road widening. Residents urged stricter action against roadside vendors using single-use plastic. Karnan directed officials to conduct regular fogging operations with active involvement of resident welfare associations. He approved an open gym for Laxminagar Park.

Casagrand, Chennai-based real estate developer, has entered Hyderabad market to add 2.74 million square feet of residential space. Founder and Managing Director Arun Mn stated the company plans to build residential projects in Mankhal, Attapur, Gowdavalli, and Kompally as the city expands beyond prime clusters. Casagrand launched its first Hyderabad project, Casagrand Hanford at Mamidipally, in 2023. After spending two years understanding the market, the company is now launching new projects ranging from apartments to boutique luxury villas.
