The 80-metre bridge on the Vishwamitri River in Vadodara is the 17th of 21 river bridges completed in Gujarat for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. It has two 40-metre spans and three circular piers, each 5.5 metres in diameter and founded on 12 piles, each 1.8 metres in diameter and up to 53 metres long. The piers are 26–29.5 metres high. The bridge is adjacent to the Vadodara-Surat Western Railway line and about 3 km from Vadodara Bullet Train station. The alignment crosses the river at nine locations in and around Vadodara; three of the other eight crossings are complete, with work underway at the rest. The project has 25 river bridges: 21 in Gujarat and four in Maharashtra. Another completed bridge in Vadodara district crosses the Dhadhar River and is 120 metres long.

NHSRCL has removed temporary obstructions from the Vishwamitri River near Vadodara ahead of monsoon, amid concerns linked to bullet train and highway works.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) has removed construction debris, temporary crossings and approach structures from the Vishwamitri River ahead of the monsoon, following concerns raised by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation and a Gujarat State Human Rights Commission-appointed expert committee about blockages in the river and stormwater channels caused by NHSRCL and National Highways Authority of India works. Officials from both agencies had assured that obstructions would be cleared before heavy rains. The Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train alignment intersects or runs alongside the river at nine locations in and around Vadodara. Its circular pier design spans approximately 1.7km and has 46 piers, each 4 to 5 metres in diameter, designed to allow unrestricted river flow. NHSRCL is also monitoring water levels and flow rates daily during peak monsoon in major rivers.
