Ranchi traffic police identified 89 hazardous divider cuts across 12 major routes for immediate sealing to curb accidents and improve traffic flow. Officers from five traffic police stations—Khelgaon, Lalpur, Gonda, Jagannathpur and Pandra—surveyed their areas. A six-member committee, formed at Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri’s direction, will oversee inspections and closures; it includes representatives of the Traffic SP and Municipal Commissioner and two Circle Officers. Closures begin on Khelgaon–Kokar, with work proceeding in phases. Routes identified include Khelgaon Chowk–Kantatoli via Kokar; Khelgaon Chowk–Jumar Bridge via Booty More; Karamtoli Chowk–Booty More; Kantatoli–Durga Soren Chowk; Dangratoli–Kantatoli; Kanke Road; Sahjanand Chowk–HEC; Old Vidhan Sabha–Dhurwa Roundabout; Chandni Chowk–Tupudana and Hawai Nagar; Shalimar Bazaar–Prabhat Tara Ground; and Itki Road.
