Speed Limits on Noida and Yamuna Expressways Fall to 75 km/h
Hindustan Times · · Infrastructure
Light-vehicle speed limits on the Noida-Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressways will drop to 75 km/h from December 15 for two months.
Key facts
Light-vehicle speed limits on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway will fall from 100 km/h to 75 km/h from December 15, usually for two winter months. Heavy-vehicle limits remain 50 km/h on the Noida Expressway and 60 km/h on the Yamuna Expressway. Officials cite low visibility and slippery roads; the revised limits will also appear on Google Maps. Yamuna Expressway toll staff are issuing safety advisories, distributing pamphlets, offering tea to night-shift truck drivers and applying reflective tape to commercial vehicles. Staff at Jewar, Mathura and Agra toll plazas are sensitising drivers, while patrol teams monitor the expressway. The administration urged motorists to check fog lamps and wiper blades and use rear-window defoggers. Noida traffic police issued 59,242 speeding challans from January to October 2025. In 2024, 1,165 accidents killed 462 people and injured 966; from January to August 2025, 797 accidents killed 311 and injured 585.
