area is in centre of Vellore, very busy area, we have many private hospitals, banks, ATMs, medical pharmacy's, hotels vegetable shops, provisions stores,non-veg stalls,auto-stand, private auto are available to have court,RTOoffice in this area the area is very busy till .mid-night ,we don't have any fear about theft, good locality, busy area, most CMC patients like this locality because of they this area so that they fell like staying in there own home town.

The ₹90 crore, four-lane Sathuvachari–VIT Road in Vellore is due to open next month, easing travel between Katpadi and the Chennai–Bengaluru Highway.

The ₹90 crore Sathuvachari–VIT High Road, off NH 48 in Vellore, is expected to open next month. The 3.2-km, 15-metre-wide four-lane road runs between Sathuvachari and Kangeyanallur village near the VIT campus, and is intended to ease congestion in Katpadi and surrounding areas. It is expected to serve at least 17,250 vehicles daily and cut travel time from Katpadi to the Bengaluru Highway by at least 30 minutes, bypassing five traffic intersections and congested Katpadi flyovers.

Most work, including a bridge across the Palar River, is complete; 950 metres of road levelling and streetlight installation on the bridge remain. The project also includes two minor bridges and 20 culverts. The main bridge is 475 metres long, 15 metres wide and 20 feet above the dry riverbed.

Vellore Corporation demolished 80 structures, mostly shops, along Arcot Road near Christian Medical College Hospital to restore the road’s original width and improve traffic flow. The removals will provide 15 to 40 feet of additional road space; the road will be re-laid and a median installed to help pedestrians cross safely.

The affected 5.2-km stretch runs from Konavattam to the Chennai–Bengaluru Highway (NH 48) service lane near the Collectorate at Kagithapattarai. The drive followed orders from Collector P.S. Leela Alex and involved revenue and Corporation officials and around 50 police personnel. Arcot Road serves government buses between Bagayam and Katpadi railway stations and connects Old Town with Sathuvachari and Rangapuram.

In 2023, the stretch was re-laid under the Rural Roads scheme 2022–23 at a cost of ₹1.5 crore, with a 10-foot width including carriageway and footpath; a damaged storm-water drain section was also reconstructed.
