Nagpur’s ₹998-crore Indora–Dighori flyover, intended to ease traffic between Kamal Chowk, Reshimbagh Square and Dighori, appears to intersect a house balcony at Ashok Chowk. The house belongs to the Patre family. Local reports said the family received a Nagpur Municipal Corporation notice months ago but had not received compensation for demolishing part of the home.

NHAI said it identified the encroachment during construction and asked NMC to remove it. NMC verified that the house was built without a sanctioned building plan. NHAI said there is 1.5 metres between the flyover rotary beam’s outer edge and the structure, but the owner extended the balcony beyond the plot boundary; the protruding portion will be demolished shortly. It said the flyover was built to approved designs and meets safety norms.
