Residents of Karumandapam in Tiruchirappalli report critical drinking water shortages. Pirattiyur, Kooturavu Nagar, Ramji Nagar, Kothamangalam, Cauvery Nagar, Jaya Nagar, Viswas Nagar, Sakthi Nagar, Alpha Nagar, R.M.S. Colony, and IOB Nagar along Tirchi-Dindigul Highway have about 10,000 households; nearly 30% built in last 15 years. Corporation supplies Cauvery water from Kambarasampettai and Jeeyapuram headworks via overhead tanks at Jaya Nagar (4 lakh litre capacity, built 2011) and Cauvery Nagar (4 lakh litre capacity, 2016). Supply lasts only 45 minutes. Residents report low pressure, frequent main bursts, and damaged distribution lines. Several new residential colonies added recently without corresponding water infrastructure increase. 110 residents demonstrated at Corporation office. Councillor V. Ramadoss acknowledged issue raised multiple times in council meetings. New 5 lakh litre overhead tank at Nakshakthira Nagar under testing.
