NHAI sanctions FOBs at Yekkur and Mukka on NH-66

NHAI has approved foot-over-bridges at Yekkur and Mukka, while NMPRCL has bid out ₹26.05 crore maintenance and overlay works on the Surathkal-B.C. Road corridor.

NHAI has sanctioned two foot-over-bridges on NH-66 in Mangaluru: one near the College of Fisheries at Yekkur and one near Srinivas Hospital at Mukka.
New Mangalore Port Road Company Limited (NMPRCL) has invited bids to develop and maintain a 37.472 km stretch of the national highways between Surathkal and B.C. Road at an estimated cost of ₹26.05 crore.
The project scope includes:
overlaying 11.084 km between Surathkal and Padil via Kuluru, Kuntikana and Nanthoor
carriageway cleaning
removal of rank vegetation
road property management and maintenance
road safety improvements
The Surathkal-B.C. Road stretch covers NH-66 from Surathkal to Nanthoor Junction and NH-73 from Nanthoor Junction to B.C. Road via Padil.
National Infrabuild Private Limited, Tirthalli and National Projects Private Limited (JV) has been awarded service-road work on four NH-66 locations:
Mulky: 500 m
Padupanambur: 310 m
Haleyangady: 550 m
Beeri: 700 m
Capt. Brijesh Chowta said the works will improve pedestrian and vehicular safety and strengthen connectivity to New Mangalore Port, with benefits for trade, transport and tourism.
