Hyderabad Metro DPRs Planned for Medchal and Shamirpet Extensions

HAML will prepare DPRs for 45 km of proposed metro extensions to Medchal and Shamirpet, with the reports due within three months.
Key facts
Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML), the Telangana Government’s special purpose vehicle for phase two of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, will prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) for two extensions totalling 45 km. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed HAML managing director N.V.S. Reddy to begin the work and complete the DPRs within three months. The reports will be submitted to the Central Government for approvals as part of phase 2B.
The proposed 23 km Paradise–Medchal line would pass through Tadbun, Bowenpally, Suchitra Circle, Gundlapochampally, Kandlakoya and an Outer Ring Road exit. The 22 km JBS–Shamirpet line would pass through Vikrampuri, Karkhana, Tirumalagiri, Lothukunta, Alwal, Bollarum, Hakimpet, Tumukunta and an ORR exit. Revanth Reddy advised officials to consult Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender.
The proposed second phase covers 76.4 km across five corridors and is estimated to cost ₹24,269 crore, under a proposed joint venture with the Central Government.
