WBGEDCL and Siddha Group Partner for Energy-Efficient Housing
The West Bengal Green Energy Development Corporation Ltd (WBGEDCL) has partnered with Siddha Group, a real estate development company, for an innovative venture. This collaboration focuses on integrating energy-saving technologies into Siddha's upcoming studio and serviced apartment project, Xanadu, located in Rajarhat.
On June 4th, S P Gon Choudhury, Managing Director of WBGEDCL, stated that the corporation would charge a nominal fee for the technology transfer. He further elaborated that WBGEDCL may consider taking up to a 2% equity stake in future real estate projects that adopt this technology.
Xanadu: A Focus on Sustainability
- Jain, Joint Managing Director of Siddha Group, revealed that approximately ten out of the one hundred and twenty apartments in Xanadu will initially be equipped with energy-saving devices. In addition to adopting clean technology, the project will also provide a range of services for the residents, which will include a dedicated eating area, a fully equipped club for socializing, and a state-of-the-art gymnasium. Siddha Group also intends to install a solar thermal lighting system along the five hundred meter stretch connecting Xanadu and Siddha Pines, which is another residential project by the Group located in Rajarhat.
Eco-Friendly Features
Xanadu is set to showcase various other sustainable features that aim to conserve resources. These include the comprehensive use of LED bulbs known for energy efficiency, a dedicated solar home lighting system, and a well-planned rainwater harvesting setup. This collaboration between WBGEDCL and Siddha Group marks a significant step towards promoting energy-efficient and environmentally friendly residential projects in West Bengal.
