Application Deadline Extended for DDA Housing Scheme
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the application deadline for the current housing scheme to March 10, 2022, in response to public demand and the ongoing pandemic.
Overview of the Housing Scheme
The DDA’s special housing scheme encompasses over 18,000 homes, and the entire application process, from submission to allotment, is conducted online. The scheme was initially launched on December 24, 2021, with an original application deadline of February 7, 2022.
Categories of Apartments
The scheme offers apartments in four categories:
- Economically Weak Section (EWS) or Janta Apartments
- Lowest Income Group (LIG)
- Middle Income Group (MIG)
- High Income Group (HIG)
These apartments are located in areas such as Dwarka, Rohini, Narela, Jasol, and others.
Details of the Flats
The flats available under this special scheme are drawn from the DDA’s older inventory or those returned by previous auction allottees. According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), most unsold DDA flats are situated in the new district of Narela.
Specifics of the Scheme
The DDA announced the scheme through a newspaper advertisement, highlighting discounted prices. The scheme encompasses a total of 18,335 flats, with the following breakdown:
- 205 HIG flats
- 976 MIG flats
- 11,452 LIG flats
- 5,702 EWS or Janata houses
The maximum sale price for an HIG apartment in Jasol is approximately Rs 2.14 crore.
Previous Allocation
Last year, the DDA allotted 1,353 apartments in a lottery held on March 10, 2021, as part of its January 2021 housing scheme.
