Prospective homeowners can anticipate the delivery of approximately 6,000 apartments situated within Jaypee Wish Town by the year 2022. Resolution professional Anuj Jain indicated that this figure includes both freshly constructed units and those already completed but awaiting refurbishment prior to key handover.
It's worth noting that the Supreme Court has previously flagged around 20,000 apartments as unfinished within the development. Earlier estimations by the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) suggested about 17,500 incomplete homes in Wish Town. The resolution specialist’s recent reappraisal sets the number of unfinished units at approximately 19,500.
According to Anuj Jain, the resolution professional, the initial task involved completing 28,000 apartments. To date, approximately 8,500 units have been delivered, leaving 19,500 flats to be finalized. It is important to realize that some of the delivered apartments still require finishing touches, like fittings and flooring. Jain stated, "We complete them and also finish the construction of some other flats as well, and together we have set a goal of handing in more than 5000 flats by the year 2022. Also, we would have already built at least 4,000 floors, our work had not stopped last year.” Work continues at the Wish Town location which includes labor mobilization.
In the JIL resolution case, Suraksha and NBCC, holding the status of resolution applicants, have submitted respective proposals to the Creditor’s Committee (COC). Lenders have given feedback on offers and expect bidders to present improved offers on “land parcels” to effectively manage the debt. On April 17th, both sides requested an additional week to allow for the submission of a second, updated proposal.
