Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA), in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh state legal services authority, is organizing a National Lok Adalat. This event is scheduled for April 10, 2021, and will take place at the Lucknow headquarters of UP-RERA and its Greater Noida office. The primary aim of this Lok Adalat is to mediate and settle disputes between developers and home buyers in an effective manner.
This Lok Adalat will be conducted via online platforms. Only those complaints that have been submitted to the authority under Section 31 of the RERA, where mutual consent, settlement, or requests for agreements are viable, will be taken into account.
In addition to the current disputes, pending cases will also undergo review by the RERA Conciliation Consultant, particularly where there is a chance of reaching a settlement through a reconciliation agreement. Cases where any party has requested an agreement will also be evaluated.
Anand Shukla, the legal advisor to UP-RERA, has been designated as the Nodal Officer overseeing the organization of the Lok Adalat.
Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, the Secretary of UP-RERA, stated, "Through Lok Adalat, home buyers will have a transparent, easy, quick settlement and solution to their cases. Adalat will consider the same cases where the settlement is possible through reconciliation agreement and cases that are pending for a long time."
