The situation appears bleak for flat purchasers in Noida and Greater Noida. The recent obstacles in registration procedures have only intensified their existing challenges, exacerbating an already difficult situation.

Impact on Flat Buyers

Builders with outstanding dues now face restrictions that prevent the registration of flats in the names of buyers. This action directly impacts individuals who have invested in properties within Noida and Greater Noida, creating significant complications. The government faces losses of approximately Rs. 4,000 crore due to these payment defaults, with around sixty developers failing to meet their financial obligations.

Mr. H K Verma, Additional CEO at Greater Noida Authority, stated that completion certificates would not be issued to defaulting developers; additionally, layout plans are also set to be disapproved.

Approximately sixty developers collectively owe the two authorities Rs. 6,000 crore, including some of the region's most prominent and well-known real estate companies.
