MahaRERA launches help desk to resolve general queries of homebuyers

MahaRERA Help Desk

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has officially inaugurated a help desk aimed at assisting citizens in addressing inquiries related to various services for home buyers. This help desk can be accessed through toll-free numbers 1800 2103770 and 022-69157100, operating daily from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, with the exception of Sundays and public holidays.

According to MahaRERA’s secretary, Vasant Prabhu, this initiative was introduced in response to numerous citizens expressing their struggles in communicating with the authorities post-pandemic regarding various issues. A dedicated team has been established specifically to aid citizens in resolving their inquiries. This support team will assist individuals with filing complaints online or checking the timelines for hearings, along with managing other project registration requests. In addition to general inquiries, those seeking more specialized technical guidance will have access to a dedicated technical team to support them.

Ramesh Prabhu, chairman of the Maharashtra Society Welfare Association, emphasized that this initiative would greatly benefit citizens who may not be fully versed in the operations of MahaRERA. Many members have found the toll-free number to be quite effective. He mentioned, "This initiative is particularly advantageous during the ongoing pandemic," underscoring the importance of accessible communication. Citizens are encouraged to utilize the support service to verify the status of projects prior to making any investments.

The help desk also serves to assist individuals in filing complaints under the supervision of on-duty staff.

Manjunath Kakkalameli, a district court attorney, pointed out that despite the prevalence of virtual hearings during the pandemic, the help desk remains available to assist citizens. Section (3) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016 mandates that authorities implement an online system for project registration applications.
