The Financial Year 2011-12 comes to a close on Saturday, March 31, 2012. To ensure a seamless year-end experience for taxpayers, the Central Board of Direct Taxes has issued a directive under Section 119 of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Key Arrangements:
- Office Hours on March 31, 2012: All Income Tax Offices across India will remain open, with operational hours from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
- Receipt Counters: To manage the anticipated year-end rush, receipts counters will function during normal office hours on this day.
- Additional Facilities (if required):
- Dates: March 30, 2012, and March 31, 2012
- Provision: Additional receipt counters may be opened to facilitate the convenient filing of income tax returns.
