G Square Group Acquires 714-Acre Kovai Hills Project for Rs 1000 Crore

Major Real Estate Investment Transforms Coimbatore's Landscape

G Square Group Acquires 714-Acre Kovai Hills Project for Rs 1000 Crore Chennai-based G Square Group has made headlines with its ambitious Rs 1,000 crore acquisition of the 714-acre Kovai Hills project from Rakindo. This massive investment marks a significant moment in Coimbatore's transformation into a premier real estate destination.

The project, now known as G Square Seven Hills, represents one of South India's most significant township developments. Located strategically along the Western Ghats in Kovaipudhur near Madukkarai, this naturally elevated site offers breathtaking panoramic views of Coimbatore city.

Comprehensive Development Plan

Phase 1 includes 406 acres featuring 3,127 DTCP and RERA-approved premium plots. The remaining 308 acres are designated for joint ventures with signature villa and apartment developers, alongside built-to-suit IT infrastructure projects, including commercial leasing and business parks, malls, and multiplexes.

The township spans multiple areas, including Perur, Chettipalayam, Sundakkamuthur, and Theethipalayam. Its unique positioning at the edge of reserve forests creates a naturally cooler microclimate with lower ambient temperatures and lush greenery.

Strategic Market Positioning

Bala Ramajeyam, founder and managing director of G Square Group, emphasised Coimbatore's rapid growth and investor confidence as key factors driving this investment. The company will develop both commercial and residential components within the expansive township, targeting NRIs and high-net-worth buyers.

This acquisition follows other major investments in the region, including Astrea Real Estate Developers' retail development purchase and L&T's commitment for a world-class IT park. These developments collectively position Coimbatore as an emerging real estate hotspot with strong appreciation potential for early investors.
