Finding Manhattan on India’s Real Estate Map

Bangalore's "Concorde Manhattans" Aims to Attract Wipro Employees

A new housing development called "Concorde Manhattans" is being developed in Electronic City of Bangalore, ideally located across from the Wipro Technologies campus. Its prime location adjacent to Wipro is a significant selling point, and Concorde Group, the developer, believes that the development's American-inspired naming convention will resonate with Wipro's internationally mobile workforce.

"'Manhattans' is a brand associated with grandeur," explained Alok Mishra, the company's marketing manager. The naming of each street and section within this gated community became a collaborative exercise for the company.

"We searched the Net, and everybody gave one name," added Gangadhar Gowda, the company’s human resource executive. The current real estate trend involves buyers reserving new suburban luxury apartments even before the first brick is laid in projects. This pre-booking frenzy requires developers to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and generate numerous names for various developments.

Gurgaon's Aspirational Addresses

Gurgaon is also witnessing a surge in such aspirational projects. Within DLF City, Phase V, residential developments with names such as Wellington Estate, Princeton Estate, and Carleton Estate overlook a landscape currently characterized by ongoing construction and undeveloped land. A group of security personnel is stationed at the entrance to Princeton Estate, meticulously monitoring all entries and exits.

Neatly trimmed shrubs and pruned trees border the paved roads winding towards each of the 20-story peach-colored towers. Additional security guards are present at each tower, indicating further emphasis on safety measures undertaken by the developers in efforts to deliver prime living solutions to residents.
