The construction of the Burj Dubai, recognized as the world’s tallest building, is facing a delay, with its anticipated completion pushed to September of the following year, as reported by the developer on Tuesday.
This remarkable tower is slated to reach an impressive height of 900 meters (2,953 feet) and was originally scheduled for completion at the end of 2008 in the vibrant city state.
Emaar, the developer behind this monumental project, stated, "The luxury finishes that were decided on in 2004, when the tower was initially conceptualized, are now being replaced by upgraded finishes."
Notably, the Burj Dubai has already earned the title of the tallest man-made structure globally, achieving this milestone when it surpassed the KVLY-TV mast in the United States, which measures 629 meters (2,063 feet).
However, it’s worth mentioning that numerous construction projects in Dubai, characterized by their frantic pace, have encountered delays attributed to a shortage of essential building materials and skilled labor.
