The digitization initiative aims to assign unique IDs to properties in various cities, thereby limiting invalid registrations and curbing fraudulent activities related to property categories and areas.
Haryana Government's Digitization Drive
Haryana's Home and Urban Local Bodies Minister, Anil Vij, announced on Wednesday that the state government is working towards digitizing property information for all cities. The survey of approximately 87 urban bodies is nearing completion, and data for over 8 lakh properties across 41 cities has already been digitized. Mr. Vij stated, "The goal of the state government is to digitize the property information of all cities."
Advantages of Property Digitization
An official statement revealed that these digitized properties will possess comprehensive data, including geographical location and various other details available online. This detailed information will encompass address, name, mobile number, category, region, a unique ID number, and even the property owner’s photograph.
Accessing Property Information
Residents will be able to locate their properties using nearby landmarks, property descriptions, and even drone imagery. The geographical location feature allows easy access to property details by simply clicking on the property tax management system's claims/objection portal, launched by the Minister on Wednesday. This system enhances the accessibility and management of property-related information for residents.
Enhanced Security and Transparency
The unique ID numbers assigned to each property will serve as a crucial measure to prevent invalid registrations. This digitization process will significantly restrict fraudulent practices concerning the category and area of the properties, promoting transparency and accountability in property dealings.
