HMDA Concludes Auction of 93 Prime Plots After Two-Year Gap

HMDA Returns to Land Auctions with 93 Prime Plots

HMDA Concludes Auction of 93 Prime Plots After Two-Year Gap The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) successfully concluded its first land auction in two years, selling 93 prime open plots across multiple locations from September 17-19, 2025. This marked a significant return to the property market after the authority's extended hiatus from land sales.

Strategic Distribution Across Key Locations

Most of the auctioned plots were concentrated in Bachupally HMDA layout, comprising 70 out of 93 total plots. The remaining parcels were strategically placed in high-demand areas, including Turkayamjal (12 plots). Four plots each were available in Kokapet, Poppalguda, Chandanagar, and Bairagiguda in Rangareddy district.

Plots were available across Gandi Maisamma, Suraram, Medipally, and Bachupally village in Medchal Malkajgiri district.

Competitive Pricing Structure

The auction featured varied pricing tiers. The highest upset price reached ₹1.75 lakh per square yard for a substantial 8,591 square yard parcel. Premium locations like Poppalguda commanded ₹1.20 lakh per square yard for a 1,630 square yard plot. Meanwhile, Chandanagar plots were priced at ₹1.05 lakh per square yard.

More affordable options range, making investment opportunities accessible to a broader spectrum of buyers.

Infrastructure Development Focus

HMDA officials emphasised that auction proceeds will fund critical infrastructure projects. These include two elevated corridors connecting Paradise to Shamirpet and Paradise to Dairy Farm Road in Medchal, plus a greenfield radial road in Future City. This strategic approach ensures that land sales directly contribute to regional development and connectivity improvements.

The successful completion of this auction signals HMDA's renewed commitment to systematic land development and revenue generation for public infrastructure enhancement.
