Gurgaon Farmers Plan to Move Court for Trust Land.

Gurgaon: Farmers of Ullawas village have decided to approach the High Court of Punjab and Haryana to reclaim a parcel of land that was leased for 33 years to the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust in 2009. The land in question, comprising 5 acres of Panchayat property, was intended to establish a charitable eye hospital. Additionally, the villagers aim to repossess another acre of land that was leased to the Church Gate Medical Society for the purpose of setting up a dental facility.

The farmers have also voiced their intention to file a petition against government officials who allegedly pressured the Panchayat head and its members to approve the resolution and sign the lease deeds in favor of these social organizations. According to the villagers, the deputy commissioner, acting on the directive of the Haryana Government, threatened to dissolve the Panchayat and remove the sarpanch, thereby compelling them to endorse the resolution and sign the documents.

However, Prakash, the Sarpanch, has refuted the allegations of any pressure exerted by the deputy commissioner. He has attributed the current dispute to a group of politically ambitious farmers attempting to exploit the situation for political gain.
