3.17 lakh PMAY-Gramin houses are not completed in Rajasthan

According to a report by the rural development department, approximately 3.16 lakh houses are incomplete under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Grameen (PMAY-G). Barmer district has the highest number of such houses, with 49,121 incomplete houses. Banswara comes second with 33,815 incomplete houses, and Jodhpur ranks third with 21,837 incomplete houses.

PMAY-G Housing Completion Data

According to data from the Rural Development Department, the construction of 13.33 lakh approved houses under PMAY-G was completed from 2016-17 to 2020-21.

Delays in Housing Construction

Even 12 months after the approval of the first installment of funds, 79,437 houses remain incomplete. After 9 months of approving the first installment of funds, 86,425 houses are still pending completion. After 6 months of approving the first installment of funds, 1.77 lakh houses are yet to be finished.

Data for Jaipur

In Jaipur, out of 13,455 authorized houses under PMAY-G, approximately 11,000 houses have been completed, and 2,408 houses are still incomplete.

Directives from the Government

Rohit Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the department, has ordered all district collectors to complete the remaining 3.17 lakh houses. These houses should be completed at the rate of 4,768 houses per day by March 31. These directives were issued on January 15, 2021.

Wages Hike under MGNREGA

After two months of the 'Pura Kaam, Pura Daam' movement in the state under MGNREGA, the wage rate in the Rural Development Department's selected district has risen to Rs 196. A department official stated that the average wage rate had risen from Rs 169 to Rs 193 in the first fortnight of the movement. The third fortnight covered more than 20 different activities, and the fourth fortnight would cover all activities under the scheme.
