Saffron Group Unveils Two-Pronged Approach for Real Estate Dominance
Real estate private equity firm Saffron Group, on May 25th, announced a comprehensive strategy to solidify its position as a market leader. The firm plans to achieve this through long-term investments in emerging properties, committing to a minimum five-year holding period, and strategically acquiring properties that offer secure rental income streams.
A Deep Dive into Saffron Group's Strategy
Founded by Ajoy Veer Kapoor and his colleagues from the banking sector, Saffron Group is renowned for its promotion of Yatra Capital, an India-focused real estate fund listed on Euronext. The group has further expanded its portfolio with the launch of Saffron India Real Estate Fund-1.
"Our plan is to be a foremost player in the field. We don’t have any short-term view. The industry is rising and it will yield better results for another 10-15 years,” Kapoor stated.
Yatra Capital has successfully raised €220 million through two public offerings and has strategically deployed approximately 75% of these funds within the Indian real estate market. Launched in February 2008, Saffron India Real Estate Fund I is currently in the process of raising an unlisted fund, targeting between USD 350-450 million, with a hard cap of USD 500 million. The fund successfully completed its first close on April 3, 2008, securing a substantial anchor investment of USD 75 million from Standard Life UK, and anticipates its final close by the end of 2008.
