Red Fort Will Develop Projects In Tier I And II Cities

Red Fort Capital's Rs 3,500 Crore Investment Strategy for Indian Real Estate

Private equity real estate firm Red Fort Capital has unveiled ambitious plans to infuse Rs 3,500 crore into various real estate projects across India. This substantial investment is planned over the next two and a half years.

Parry Singh, the company's Director, confirmed these plans, stating, “We will be investing Rs 3,500 crore in various real estate projects in different parts of the country during the next two-and-a half years.”

Second International Fund on the Horizon

Red Fort Capital is currently in the process of amassing this capital through its second international fund, also amounting to Rs 3,500 crore. The closure of this funding round is expected in the latter half of 2008, according to Singh. The firm's current investments are being fueled by its first international fund of Rs 1,500 crore, which they secured from institutional investors in 2006.

Focus on Tier I and II Cities, Openness to Tier III

The investment strategy, according to Singh, will predominantly target Tier I and II cities. He emphasized the company’s receptiveness to diverse opportunities across the nation’s urban landscape, stating, “We are open to opportunities. Mainly, we would focus on Tier I and II cities. However, we are open to develop projects in Tier III destinations as well.”

Comprehensive Investment Approach

Red Fort Capital employs a comprehensive investment approach, engaging in all developmental phases of real estate ventures. Their involvement spans across land acquisition, property development, sales and marketing, ongoing maintenance, and even extends to ventures within the affordable housing sector across India. This multifaceted involvement underscores a holistic commitment to the projects they engage in, covering the spectrum from initial acquisition of land to ongoing marketing efforts and the crucial aspects of continuing upkeep. Further reinforcing their commitment to diverse housing needs, the firm invests in low-cost housing projects as well, broadening their impact on the housing market.
