ITDC to Revamp Delhi Hotels: Janpath and Samrat Get a Makeover
Following the successful renovation of its flagship property, The Ashok, the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is moving forward with ambitious plans to revamp two more of its prominent Delhi hotels: Janpath and Samrat. The renovations aim to enhance the hotels' appeal and modernize their offerings.
Hotel Janpath: A Luxurious Transformation
Hotel Janpath is set for a significant upgrade, including the addition of opulent onyx pillars and the innovative introduction of mini-spas in each room across four floors. These personal spas will be equipped with a jacuzzi, a massage table, and a medicine dispenser, providing guests with a private wellness experience.
Furthermore, dedicated spa facilities on the ground and first floors will offer comprehensive services, including a gym, sauna, steam room, and treatment rooms. For guests seeking relaxation under the sun, a solarium is being constructed on the rooftop.
"The personal spa concept is likely to require an investment of Rs 45 crore. We are still in the process of finalizing the details," stated a senior ITDC official.
The hotel's exterior has already undergone visible improvements, featuring a new cobbled stone driveway and a replacement of the former white-washed facade with a modern glass exterior. The previously underutilized restaurants, once primarily known for political gatherings, have been opened to partnerships with private players.
This revitalization has brought a new energy to the hotel's dining scene, with designer Rohit Bal's Italian restaurant, Cibo, having opened earlier this year. In addition to Cibo, Hotel Janpath now hosts other upscale dining establishments, including Mismo and Swagath.
Hotel Samrat: Details of Renovation Yet to Unfold
While information about the specifics for Hotel Samrat's makeover are not yet public, the ITDC plans to elevate the hotel's existing offerings in line with the work completed at The Ashok and the exciting transformation efforts underway at Hotel Janpath. This revitalization strategy demonstrates the ITDC's commitment to maintaining its competitive edge and offering guests a unique and contemporary experience in the heart of Delhi's hospitality landscape.
