DLF plans multiplexes in different part of country

DLF to Invest ₹1,250 Crore in Multiplex Expansion

DLF, a major real estate company, intends to inject ₹1,250 crore into expanding its multiplex operations across the country. The company's strategy involves the addition of at least 500 screens over the coming four to five years.

Megaplex at Mall of India, Gurgaon

A key element of this expansion is the construction of a 12-screen megaplex, with a seating capacity of 2,500, within the forthcoming Mall of India in Gurgaon. This mega-mall, poised to be one of India's largest, will encompass a sprawling 40 lakh sq ft area. The Mall of India will house the megaplex project by DLF.

DT Cinemas Launches in Chandigarh's DLF Infocity

DLF's entertainment subsidiary, DT Cinemas, has also announced the inauguration of its multiplex at DLF Infocity, an IT Park in Chandigarh, spanning 1,90,000 sq ft, with the majority of the space already leased. The multiplex will start commercial operation within the next 10–12 days.

DT Cinemas CEO Kajal Aijaz highlighted their state-of-the-art facilities. “With the multiplex offering state-of-the-art facilities like Christie cinema projection system, excellent acoustics, wall-to-wall carpeting, extra legroom with comfortable slideback seating and push back armrests for the audience, they were eyeing about 66 per cent occupancy at the multiplex in the first year.” The company anticipates approximately 66% occupancy in its first year.

Further Expansion Plans for DT Cinemas

DLF has ambitious plans to establish around 120 malls throughout the country, with DT Cinemas slated to be a primary attraction in most. Besides the upcoming multiplexes in Ludhiana and Jalandhar within the next couple of years, DT Cinemas is also set to launch multiplexes in several Delhi locations including: Savitri-GK2, Shalimar Bagh, Vasant Kunj and Saket. Additionally they are also opening a new location in Star Mall, Gurgaon, later this year. DT Cinemas will also extend its reach across other major Indian cities, spanning Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, and Kolkata. This widespread expansion reinforces the commitment DT Cinemas has made to providing quality movie-going all over India.
