Adani Group explores data and convention centre at Mahindra World City in JaipurAdani Group chairman Gautam Adani met Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and toured Mahindra World City (MWC) in Jaipur to assess a site for a data centre and a convention centre, Indiatimes reported in January 2026.

What the report said

The visit included a 45-minute site tour and a presentation on MWC's total area and the companies operating there, the report said. Indiatimes1 said the visit was for a location assessment.

Rajasthan Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) managing director Shivangi Swarnkar and industries commissioner Suresh Kumar Ola accompanied the chairman, according to the report.

Formal proposals will be submitted after the group finalises the site, the report said. It added that Adani Group already has a significant presence in Rajasthan across airports, energy projects and other sectors.

No investment amount or timeline has been reported.

Why MWC matters for Ajmer Road

MWC is on the Ajmer Road corridor. Asian News International reported in July 2026 that Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra said the township has attracted 143 companies, with investments of ₹7,000 crore, 63,000 jobs and exports of ₹23,000 crore since inception. The report cited remarks made at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024.

MWC has a 1,500-acre special economic zone (SEZ) and an adjoining 1,000-acre Domestic Tariff Area, according to a July 2026 report by Yaduraj Realty. The report said employers there create housing demand along Ajmer Road.

Asking prices on Ajmer Road

PropertyWala listings put residential land on Ajmer Road at about ₹1,583 per sq ft (2025 Q4 to 2026 Q3), compared with Jaipur's average of ₹7,163 per sq ft.2 That is about 78% below the city figure.

Independent houses averaged about ₹5,568 per sq ft (2023 Q4 to 2026 Q2), roughly 42% below the city average of ₹9,570. The locality's house rate was down about 21% from the previous year.

Residential land accounts for about half of the listings on Ajmer Road. Apartments make up about a third and independent houses about a tenth. Agricultural and commercial land account for the rest.

Other commercial projects are also planned along the corridor. ETRealty reported in July 2026 that Manglam Group launched the ₹1,000 crore PinkWest project on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway.

What to watch

The next step is the formal proposal, which Adani Group is to submit after finalising the site, according to the Indiatimes report. Neither the company nor the state government has announced an approval or a start date.
