Gujarat government under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and IN-SPACe announced development of Common Technical Facilities (CTF) for space technology sector at GIDC Khoraj Space Manufacturing Park. The CTF will provide startups and MSMEs access to testing and validation infrastructure including a Class 100,000 clean room with specialised safety systems, thermo-vacuum chamber, climate test chamber, vibration testing system for payloads up to 12 tonnes, EMI/EMC testing, magnetic field testing, mass properties measurement systems, and calibration facilities for Earth Observation optics. IN-SPACe will provide technical support and contribute up to Rs 100 crore for equipment procurement; Gujarat government will fund construction, operation, and maintenance. The state has allocated 50 acres of land for the Space Manufacturing Park at Khoraj, with potential expansion to 100 acres. The park will focus on end-to-end design and development of spacecraft, payload systems, and space-based applications. Announcement made at 10th edition of IN-SPACe Industry Connect with Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Gujarat Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia present.

About half a dozen companies are at advanced stage of talks to be part of the Space Technology Park at Khoraj near Ahmedabad, according to Dr Pawan Kumar Goenka, chairman of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe).

Maruti Suzuki India approved investment of Rs 10,189 crore to set up 250,000 units per annum production capacity in the first phase of upcoming manufacturing facility at Khoraj.

Maruti Suzuki India board approved acquisition of land at Khoraj Industrial Estate from Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation. Proposed capacity addition: up to 10 lakh (1 million) units per year. Cost of land acquisition, development and preparatory activities: Rs 4,960 crore. Expansion funding through mix of internal accruals and external borrowings. Overall investment for expansion to be finalised and approved by board during phased installation. Current total installed capacity across Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda (Haryana) and Hansalpur (Gujarat): 24 lakh units per annum, with ability to produce up to 26 lakh units annually. Existing capacity fully utilised. In 2024, Suzuki Motor Corp president announced Maruti Suzuki India would invest Rs 35,000 crore to set up second manufacturing facility in Gujarat with 10 lakh units per annum capacity.
