Over 10,000 residents of Kendriya Vihar-II in Sector 82, Noida demand the authority fix recurring water shortages caused by power disruptions affecting the pump house.

Kendriya Vihar-II comprises 126 apartment blocks and 2,276 flats in Sector 82. Residents demand permanent solutions for recurring water supply disruptions affecting over 10,000 people during summer and monsoon seasons. The colony is dependent on Noida Authority water supply but faces shortages whenever power disruptions affect the sector's pump house. When supply is disrupted, storage reservoirs are not replenished in time, leading to shortages lasting days or weeks. The issue has persisted intermittently for nearly a year and worsened in recent months. Population has grown significantly since 2004 to near-full capacity. Society depends on two borewells with inadequate supply during disruptions. Three underground storage tanks don't fill due to irregular supply. Residents' demands include: reliable power backup system for pump house, standby pumps for equipment failure continuity, emergency response mechanism for immediate restoration after disruptions, and long-term infrastructure upgrades. Noida Jal Board senior manager stated water flow and pressure are normal, visited three days prior. DG set installation cannot be accommodated as such installations are not permitted under National Green Tribunal guidelines.
