Floodwaters Submerge Kamareddy Colonies and Damage Key Roads

Unprecedented August 27 rains submerged Kamareddy colonies, forced residents from homes, and damaged roads and a bridge, disrupting traffic across the district.
Key facts
Unprecedented rain on August 27, 2025, left Kamareddy town and rural areas flooded. GR Colony, Teachers Colony, Housing Board Colony and Sarampally ST Residential School were badly affected; water rose to two floors in under two hours, forcing residents to flee. Blocked nalas, attributed to encroachments, worsened flooding in GB Colony and Housing Board Colony.
NDRF and SDRF teams, police and rescue workers saved 50 people sheltering near an old-age home in Ugrawai village. The Kamareddy–Bibipet main road was washed away, and overflow from Bibipet irrigation tank damaged a bridge, halting traffic. Rajampet and Bhikanoor were among the worst-hit villages; overflowing irrigation tanks flooded homes and roads. NH-44 caved in near Jangampally, holding up traffic in both directions for several hours.
In Nizamabad district, Ramadugu project in Dharpally mandal received and released 11,609 cusecs. A stream in Gadkol village inundated homes.
