Union minister of state for railways Ravneet Singh Bittu laid foundation stones for two road overbridge (ROB) projects on 24 June 2026 in Jalandhar.

Guru Nanak Pura ROB: Replaces railway crossing on Jalandhar City–Jalandhar Cantt section on busy Sahnewal–Amritsar route. Cost: ₹48.95 crore, 100% railway-funded. Will ease traffic congestion and eliminate delays from frequent railway crossing closures.

Garha Road ROB: Two-lane overbridge replaces railway crossing on Jalandhar City–Nakodar section. Cost: ₹63.98 crore, 100% railway-funded. Will provide connectivity to Jalandhar city, Jamsher Khas, Nakodar and adjoining areas while improving safety and reducing traffic congestion.
