Following the felling of 55 trees on Gangapur Road divider, Nashik civic administration issued a notice to Namrata Advertising Company. Six persons were arrested in connection with the unauthorised tree-felling. The trees were cut without required permission. Investigators are examining whether tree-felling was linked to creating space for advertising hoardings and seeking to establish: who ordered the cutting, who arranged labour or machinery, and whether financial transactions were involved. Authorities are seeking information from the company on: whether it authorised anyone to undertake tree-felling, whether any agreement or transaction was made for advertising space, and whether necessary permissions from civic authorities were obtained. Trees on road dividers reduce dust, heat and pollution and contribute to the city's green cover. Citizens and environmental activists have demanded responsibility be fixed and strict action taken against all involved.

The 3.190-kilometer Ashok Stambh to Gangapur Road route in West Nashik (covering Ashok Stambh to Jehan Circle and Jehan Circle to Gangapur village limits) is being widened and modernized in preparation for Simhastha 2027.

Underground utility works in progress:

• 1,678-meter sewage pipeline under AMRUT scheme completed
• 280-meter sewage pipeline under AMRUT DPR-2 completed
• 1,320-meter MNGL gas pipeline under Municipal Bond project
• 3,043 meters of optical fibre cables and electrical infrastructure installation
• 3,572-meter stormwater drainage line under construction to resolve waterlogging in the area

Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri stated the completed road will make traffic more organised, safe and efficient, with modern urban amenities for citizens.

A road-base section about 3.5 metres wide between Dwarka and Kathegali has opened to traffic; excavation has begun on the adjoining 3.5-metre section. Flyover work on both sides of the underpass is complete. Retaining walls along the Kathegali–Dwarka Circle route are nearing completion, after which a 240-metre service road will open. It will give vehicles from Nashik Road a direct route towards the Mumbai–Agra Highway and provide an alternative for traffic heading to Mumbai Naka, Panchavati, Gangapur Road and central Nashik. The Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation plans to open Dwarka Circle fully by October 15. The underpass, connecting the Mumbai–Agra and Pune–Nashik highways, is a ₹213.85-crore project being built in two phases; its first phase is planned for completion by February 2027. The Dwarka–Sarda Circle road remains unfinished.

Nashik’s Simhastha Kumbh runs from October 31, 2026, to July 24, 2027; nearly 3 crore devotees attended in 2015. The municipal corporation’s Rs 1,230–1,400 crore programme covers 28 roads spanning about 120 km and four bridges, with 18 contractors. Concrete surfacing was due to start in October, with most work targeted for December 2026 and a March 2027 deadline. A single underground duct will carry utilities; Mahanagar Natural Gas is barred from unapproved road digging for two years.

The state’s 66 km ring road has Rs 3,954 crore in sanctioned civil works and a total project value above Rs 7,600 crore. The four-lane road, expandable to six lanes, includes 29 underpasses and seven viaducts; all seven packages are under construction, targeting March 2027. About Rs 2,270 crore is earmarked for regional roads, including Nashik–Trimbak Road (Rs 350 crore), Nashik–Dindori–Vani Road (Rs 100 crore) and Janori–Ozar airport road (Rs 50 crore).

Median asking prices rose from Rs 4,500/sq ft in March 2026 to Rs 5,100 in June. Nasik West rose nearly 13% year-on-year; East and South barely moved. Nasik West 2 BHK rents average Rs 25,000 monthly; city averages are Rs 11,300 for a 1 BHK and Rs 14,000 for a 2 BHK. Gangapur Road, Panchavati, Adgaon, Trimbak Road and Nashik Road are highlighted for property and rental demand.

Nashik Deputy Commissioner of Police Chandrakant Gawali issued restrictions under the Motor Vehicles Act to prevent congestion and support festival displays and immersion processions. Police, ambulances, fire services and residents of affected areas are exempt.

• Panchavati: September 21–24, daily 5 pm–midnight, covering Kalaram Temple, Sardar, Malviya and Gajanan Chowks, Nag and Shivaji Chowks, and routes via Dindori Naka, Panchavati Karanja, Malegaon Stand, Makhmalabad Naka, Peth Phata, Ramwadi, Chopda Lawns, Nimani, Katya Maruti Chowk, Santosh T-Point and Peth Naka.
• September 18 and 20: 2 pm–midnight, ST and Citylink buses and heavy vehicles from Nimani Bus Station and CBS towards Panchavati/Ravivar Karanja are barred. Diversions: Nimani–Katya Maruti Chowk–Santosh T-Point/Vishwakarma Chowk–Kannamwar Bridge–Dwarka Circle; and CBS–Ashok Stambh–Ramwadi Bridge–Makhmalabad Naka–Peth Naka–Dindori Naka.
