Accessing Land Records via Banglarbhumi: A Comprehensive Guide

This guide explains how to navigate the official West Bengal online land records website, known as “Banglarbhumi” (meaning "land of Bengal"), to access essential property information.

Launched by the Land & Land Reforms Department Government of West Bengal, Banglarbhumi offers a comprehensive database of land records, including RORs, Fards, online Khata Khataunis, Mutations, and Jamabandis. This platform simplifies the process of accessing crucial land-related data. Let's delve into the functionality and usage of this website.

Understanding Khaitan and Plot Information

Developed with support from the West Bengal NIC team, the Banglarbhumi website is managed by the West Bengal revenue department. The website contains information for the entire state, covering over 42,042 Mouzas and 4.30 crore Khaitans. Considering that over 70% of the populace resides in rural areas and has agricultural backgrounds, access to land records is of paramount importance. A recent survey conducted by the revenue department revealed more than 3 million Patta users in West Bengal, highlighting the need for an efficient system for disseminating this information. The Banglarbhumi website addresses this challenge by empowering users to access land and property data using the owner's name and property details.

Searching by Name for Khaitan and Plot Information

To access Khaitan and plot information on Banglarbhumi, navigate to the website and click on “Khaitan and Plot Information.” Follow the subsequent steps to retrieve your online land records:

  1. Visit the official website: http://www.banglarbhumi.gov.in/
  2. Locate and select the “Know Your Property” tab from the main menu.

Upon accessing the Banglarbhumi web portal, the “Know Your Property” option is readily visible in the main menu. Clicking on this option allows users to check Khaitan plot specifics. The website requires users to input specific identifiers, including the District, Name, Block Identification, and Mouza.
