Two Arjun Nagar Houses Demolished Over Government Land Encroachment

Indiatimes · · Regulatory

Authorities demolished two houses in Bhopal’s Arjun Nagar over government-land encroachments, while a court stay paused action against a third property.

Key facts

A joint team of the district administration, Bhopal Municipal Corporation and police demolished the houses of Saad and Sahil in Arjun Nagar, under Aishbagh police station, on September 13, 2025. The drive began at 4am with around 300 police personnel, 75 municipal workers and five earthmovers; the structures were razed by 9am.

Officials said the properties encroached on government Charokhar land in the Ashoka Garden revenue area. Investigations identified encroachments on plots of 1,200 and 600 square feet. Notices issued on August 19 gave occupants until September 4 to vacate. A third house, belonging to Farhan, was spared after a district court stay.

Officials said nearly 350 Arjun Nagar houses were built on government land; many had previously allotted pattas that were later cancelled. The three accused men are among six accused of raping and blackmailing college students. Their families contested the allegations and demolition action.
