Farmers' associations in Arisipalayam village at Madukkarai, Coimbatore claim a six-year delay in developing a link road through private and government land. Farmers donated private lands to Arisipalayam panchayat via donation deeds, recorded in revenue documents and registered as a joint path. The block development officer of Madukkarai block directed farmers to make donation deeds; lands were transferred to panchayat name with no opposition to road construction. Farmers report block development officials have caused delays to create the link road, leaving farmers who donated land without connecting roads and in financial hardship. P Kandasamy, general secretary of the farmers' association, submitted a petition to the collectorate on 22 February 2025.
